With a strong stature and a level of focus rarely seen in an athlete so young, Wayne Thimas is a strong offensive lineman coming out of Johnston High School (Johnston, RI). Showing a strong commitment to improving his fitness and skill level, Thimas has hired a personal coach to train both football and strength and conditioning skills in the off season. Through hard work and discipline, he has lost fat and gained muscle, going from 6’3” and 335 pounds to 6’5” and 285 pounds. He spends two days a week working football skills, while working strength and conditioning skills four times a week, and has clocked a 5.9 40 yard dash.
Having accepted invitations to attend football camps at Boston College, University of Connecticut, and University of Delaware, Thimas has high hopes for also garnering the attention of coaching staff at the University of Miami and University of South Florida. He also has plans to attend the 2016 Football University Camp in Philadelphia, PA in June.
Bringing the same level of dedication to the classroom as he brings to the football field, Thimas has raised his GPA from a 2.4 to a 2.68 in just one semester, earning nearly straight A’s this past semester. He has been studying hard and intends to earn an impressive score when he takes the SAT in June 2016. With high hopes of improving both his educational and football backgrounds, Thimas will learn on March 10, 2016 whether or not he will be attending St. Paul’s Boarding School, beginning fall 2016. He looks forward to the opportunity to continue to better himself, and states that he never quits, no matter what it takes.
