With quick feet and a powerful hit, CJ Herson is a talented inside linebacker coming out of Bishop Feehan High School Attleboro, Ma). Having already heard from an impressive 18 colleges, including Cornell University, Princeton University , Yale University, Dartmouth College, Bucknell University, Northern Arizona University, College of the Holy Cross, University of Pennsylvania, Middlebury College, Tufts University, Sacred Heart University, Harvard, and Bentley University, Herson hopes to garner the attention of the University of Rhode Island and Boston College.
Taking an active role in his college recruitment process, Herson has not only earned invites to attend college junior days at Cornell, Princeton, Darthmouth, and Middlebury, but he was invited to participate in football camps at the University of Rhode Island, Harvard, Pennsylvania, and University of Maine as a sophomore. He has also been invited to, and intends to participate in, football camps put on by all 18 of the colleges he has been in contact with this year. On top of that, he plans on attending the NUC Five Star New Jersey Junior Day Combine on April 3, 2016.
In addition to that impressive list of accomplishments, Herson works hard on his off season training. He participates in weightlifting sessions at his high school three times per week, as well as two performance sessions per week at Edge Performance Systems in Foxborough, Massachusetts where his primary focus is improving his speed and explosiveness. When he is not playing or training for football, Herson has enjoyed playing the position of defenseman on the lacrosse team throughout his high school career. This year, he plans to either continue participating in lacrosse, or join the track and field team.
Standing 5’11” tall, weighing 230 pounds, and with a 4.94 40 yard dash, Herson comes from a family of football players. His father once played for American International University. With a 3.30 GPA, his hard work shows not only on the field, but in the classroom as well. He has plans to take the SAT and the ACT this spring, and intends to study hard and do well on both exams. Herson holds himself to a high standard, and states that he works as hard as he possibly can, in all aspects of his life, at all times.
